President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries visits the GFSC

28 Mar 18

President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), Marjorie Ngwenya, will pay a visit to the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) on 28/29th March 2018 to present the IFoA strategy and how this will affect Gibraltar.

Marjorie will meet senior members of the GFSC and address Actuaries Rock, a society for actuaries working in Gibraltar and individuals interested in actuarial policies related to the jurisdiction.

Kathryn Morgan, GFSC Director of Regulatory Operations and founding member of Actuaries Rock said: “We are very excited to have Marjorie visit Actuaries Rock and this visit further highlights the importance of Gibraltar and the GFSC internationally in financial services.”

At the bi-monthly Actuaries Rock, Marjorie will also outline how the IFoA’s international and policy work impacts Gibraltar. She will provide an insight into her role as IFOA President and highlight the diversity among its membership.

Marjorie is the first IFoA President to be based outside the UK, and has extensive experience in the consulting and reinsurance fields. She is an active volunteer for the IFoA and has served four years as a member of their Audit and Risk committee and is a member of their management board. Marjorie is also a trustee of the Legal Resources Trust in South Africa.
