As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop, the GFSC is committed to following the latest advice and regulations set out by HM Government of Gibraltar. As such, we have temporarily closed our offices and all our staff are now operating virtually. Our main switchboard remains fully operational.
The physical and mental wellbeing of our staff remains at the heart of our organisational values and our technological infrastructure, contingency arrangements, and business continuity plans have allowed us to facilitate working from home seamlessly. This ability to work remotely enables us to also take into account the wellbeing of firms’ staff and the community more generally.
The GFSC understands the challenges that firms face during these unprecedented times and encourages firms to take reasonable steps to meet the challenges this pandemic could place on customers, staff and their business more generally.
Firms are asked to maintain close communication with their GFSC supervisor and industry lead.
We are monitoring statements and announcements issued by international standard setting bodies and European supervisory authorities closely in order to ensure that we are able to react quickly, and flexibly to any recommended regulatory forbearance in order to offer operational relief and support business continuity within the regulated sector.
We will provide updates to any changes to supervisory and regulatory requirements both on our website, via statements such as this one, and by communicating directly with firms.
At this stage, firms are asked to note the following:
Further information relating specifically to our approach regarding audited financial statements across all sectors will follow over the next few days. Where other returns are concerned, firms should speak to their supervisor regarding any required extension to submission deadlines.
We would like to thank firms for their continued professionalism. We will endeavor to provide any support that is needed. We recommend that firms subscribe to our RSS feeds or continue to monitor our website for further information in the coming days and weeks.
We can be contacted via the main switchboard +350 200 40283 or via email email@example.com.
It is essential that we all continue to follow HM Government of Gibraltar’s advice in order to play our part to combat COVID-19. In the meantime, please all stay safe.
