Following the decision of the Supreme Court of Gibraltar to appoint a liquidator, the GFSC has today, 26 October 2016,
issued a direction that Enterprise Insurance Company plc cease to be authorised to carry on insurance business. The direction was given pursuant to section 156(1) of the Financial Services (Insurance Companies) (Solvency II Directive)
Act and section 106(1) of the Financial Services (Insurance Companies) Act. The direction does not prevent the liquidator from undertaking activities necessary or appropriate for the purposes of winding up the business,
which he will do with the consent and under the supervision of the GFSC. The withdrawal of authorisation is effective as of 26 October 2016.
