What is the timeframe for the 2014/17 Strategic Plan?
The timeframe of the Strategic Plan (the Plan) spans a 3 year period. Our key strategic objectives to be implemented during this time are highlighted in the Plan.
To support the implementation of the Plan we have carried out an organisational restructure which has and continues to improve the effective and efficient operational delivery of authorisation, supervision and, where necessary, enforcement.
We continue to build our organisation and focus on making the changes necessary to deliver our strategic objectives. We publish our business plans which clearly set out our priorities for each year. We also publish annual reports which reflect upon what we have achieved within a given year.
How will the GFSC staff know and understand my type of business?
In order to ensure that all firms receive timely attention and focus required, an individual with sector specific experience in that area will be able to work with you. For example, a fund application will be dealt with by an individual who understands and has experience of the funds sector.
Will I be able to talk to an expert in my field?
Yes of course. The GFSC is structured in such a way that it supports the ongoing development of experienced staff within a number of fields.
We have senior individuals with sector specific experience in each of our supervisory teams. They will ensure that your query is dealt with in the most efficient way possible.
Does the GFSC intend to consult on changes to regulatory approaches and practices?
Your views and experience are important in helping us understand how best to approach delivering multiple elements of our regulatory remit. Consequently we intend to continue consulting widely with organisations and individuals on many different issues. We use different channels to ensure you are involved at the early stages. At all times we will be working to ensure greater transparency and understanding about the adopted process, including the opportunity for those affected to provide views and feedback and to talk directly with us about specific issues.
